beYOU is expanding its services and needs new volunteers to cover a wide range of roles. If you have time or skills to spare, please get in touch.
contact
volunteers are gay, lesbian or bisexual staff who
work directly with our clients, either on the Helpline or weekly
drop-in sessions. Full training and support is given, no experience
is necessary.
non-contact volunteers assist with the running of
the organisation or specific projects. Many skills are useful,
including: financial, recruitment, design, technology, PR and event
management.
If you think you could help, please email us at volunteering@beyou.org.uk
with your name and contact details and someone will get right
back to you.
What happens next?
Once your information has been received we will endeavour to
contact you as soon as possible. However as we are only a small,
volunteer run organisation and there sometimes can be a
delay.
The usual process for both kinds of volunteers is an
interview, followed by training, three days for contact
volunteering, and one day for non-contact volunteers.
Contact volunteers will then undertake a course of
supervised 'listening-ins and answerings' before being appointed by
the management committee.
All volunteers are expect to attend four quartlerly training
days a year.
