The beHERE drop-in is a confidential service covering similar subjects as the beYOU Helpline but for those seeking face-to-face contact and discussion.

We host beHERE once a week at Global Café, RISC, 35-39 London Street, Reading. Although this is not a ‘gay’ venue, the café supports many different lifestyles and backgrounds, with strong anti-homophobic policies. You can find us usually at the quieter, rear of the café. Just look out for the beHERE signs.

The drop-in was introduced at the beginning of this year, and has grown in popularity over the last twelve months. It’s a safe way for those wishing to ‘come out’ and meet gay and lesbian people in a relaxed, informal, and ‘non-gay’ environment. It has also proved popular with our volunteers who find the face-to-face work both challenging and satisfying.
